That sounds like a great doctor! I wish we had Wilford hall. Sorry about the blood draws, I know how traumatic that can be. Glad you had a productive visit and sounds like the boys will benefit alot from this dr.Thanks Linda! I wish you guys could come here and see this doc, he is so great. Yeah I'm wondering about the one tricare gave us. We are suppose to have an appt tomorrow but they called today to reschedule. I was a little ticked off. It would have been nice to have had a little more notice. DH took off work and everything. I kind of wish now that we had taken that PCS to San Antonio, but I really thought Tampa was the better place for the boys. Now I'm not so sure. Wilford hall would have been great.any chance you can have your dh update his dream sheet so that if there ever is an opening in San Antonio you could come here??Hey San Antonio would be very workable for me. Could you give me some info on how to contact that dev ped? I'd like to take B to a good one, and the ones available here in La reallly suck IMO.
Probably not. We just got here and he retires Jan 09. This is our last assignment unless he decides to stay past 20, which I don't see happening.
Mary, Wilford Hall where she went is a major military medical center. THey are along the same lines as Walter Reed or Bethesda Naval Hospital. You either have to be active duty or retired to access the drs there, unless he is in the reserves and has a private practice somewhere. the boys neuro was like that.
I had planned to mention this but things have been so crazy this week. We had our appt. with the developmental peds over at Wilford Hall today. Very nice doctor, lots of knowldege on Autism.I understand that Linda. We stayed until 23 yrs, just for the benefits, but we had to spend the last 8 years in Arizona.
Mary, I do know some deve. peds in San Antonio that are not affilated with the military, civilian doctors that I could get you contact info on. Houston might be closer for you. check out the database on the ASA website.
We have a great one in Lewisville, Texas and sees patients within weeks instead of months..Dr. Michael Rios:) He doesnt accept insurance and charges @ 0 for the 3 hour evaluation but if you have alot of evals already done like speech, abbls, pt/ot, neurologists..he will knock off some of the price:) It is nice to have the professionals on our side:) Blood draws were the worst for us too..they wanted 4 vials and it took at least 4 sticks
